Friends of Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center are the foundation of support that enables over 5,000 youth to have fun, to learn new skills, make new friends and become future leaders every year. Over 20,000 individuals visit the center for retreats, conferences, workshops and community celebrations and activities each year. Over five decades the land on which the Center sits has transformed from an Army Remount Depot, providing horses and mules to soldiers dedicated to making our world a better, safer place, to an Educational Center that helps build leaders who will help fulfill that same promise for future generations.
Friends of the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center help provide the funds the Center needs to keep our programs and services affordable and, when needed, to provide scholarships given directly to campers. Donations provide the resources for us to maintain and update our facilities.
The 4-H Center has always offered educational programs and services at the lowest possible cost to participants. In fact, most campers pay only half of the actual cost to provide five days of meals, lodging and educational programming. Without the support of individuals like you, the 4-H Center would be forced to burden families with higher camp fees, and delay or even forgo many much-needed facility updates and improvements and replacement of aging equipment. Each year the 4-H Center needs to raise a minimum of $250,000 to keep up with existing demands. This does not provide any funding for updating existing facilities or adding new facilities.
